Debate summarising the TEIN4citizens project
On 22 April 2021, a debate summarising the series of workshops and the implementation of the "TEIN4citizens" project took place. The event was organised by the online Euro-Institute in Kehl - the lead partner of the project.
Speakers at the meeting were: Anne Sander (European Parliament in Strasbourg), Nathalie Verschelde (European Commission in Brussels), Frank Scherer (Mayor of Ortenau district, President of Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau), Jeanne Barseghian (Mayor of Strasbourg and Vice President of Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau), Josha Frey (Member of the Landtag Baden-Württemberg and Vice President of the Rhine Council and the Euro-Institute), Anthony Soares (Centre for Cross Border Studies, Northern Ireland), Thomas Richomme (student at the Institute of Political Science, University of Strasbourg).
The discussion focused on topics related to identity, multilingualism, culture, mobility and environment in border regions in Europe, taking into account the current global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was addressed to the general public. The debate was also attended by representatives of the partners of the "TEIN4citizens" project, including the Association for Development and Regional Cooperation "Olza".
The two-year project was co-funded by the Europe for Citizens programme and implemented by 9 institutions associated in the TEIN network, representing different European border regions.
